IceMan Taney

My father-in-law is a sweet, funny man. When he worked on the docks in Cali, he was nicknamed "Ice Man". That nick name holds true today due to sleet, snow and rain and he will run around in shorts and no coat. Sounds crazy? Yes, when I'm bundled up waiting for the Ice age to hit, he is not even fazed. Thank you Dad, for letting me paint your portrait. My family have been wonderful in giving me permission to photograph and paint them. Thank you all so much!!

Ode to my Parents

This painting is acrylic on a 18X24 canvas of my Mom and Dad. I love painting my family members, this is so much better than photos for me in my home. I follow my brush around the eyes and smiles of my loved ones and it brings an instant smile to my face. Hope you enjoy this painting Mom & Dad! Love you both!

Daisy for your Thoughts

Happy Spring everyone! Hope you are enjoying the crisp weather.
I am currently working on art pieces that have concepts of ego and entitlement issues.
Do you know anyone who has entitlement issues?? I am interested in reading your story, please post them.
I have found an AWESOME subject and will be posting new pieces soon. Stay tuned!

Winter Wonderland

This Winter scene is inspired by my home, currently the Wasatch Mountains in snow bound Utah. The mountains are so breath taking here that it's hard not to draw, sketch and paint them from any and every angle. My Canadian family says their mountains are even more spectacular than the Rockies. Sounds like a road trip and a travel easel are in my future. This painting is Acyclic on board 38X26 in a Black Frame and ready to hang.

Gizmo and Running Horse

Good Day!!

I have posted two new additions to my website that I hope you enjoy as much as my clients do. Both these special ordered paintings were created while working with my clients.

Gizmo is a sweet, funny faced beloved pet. No doubt Gizmo is a daily joy to his owner. The running horse on the beach was created for another client who just loves horses. I mixed much love into both of these works before sending them out.

Thank you for letting me create these pieces! I hope you enjoy!!

All month long

I have been working on multiple paintings for my clients, with many more to come. I will keep you updated via Facebook. I'm thrilled to have finished a family vacation photo of a trip Mike and I took to Topaz mountain, Utah. This lovely twisted Juniper tree was sitting next to a wash out in front of these purple mountains, so pretty! The picture I took was so beautiful I thought, "hey, why not a painting too!" This acrylic painting named "Topaz Mountain" is on a 16X20 canvas. The other finished piece named, "Into the wood" is on a 12X12 canvas.

You can purchase both of these or any other painting you see below by contacting me.
Prints of any paintings start at $20.00. 5X7, 8X10 and up.
If you prefer, other clients send me a picture of what they want turned into a private painting.
Email me your own photo to be turned into a painting, color or black/white may differ on pricing.
I have a few orders set to be sent for Valentine's Day, so hurry and let me know if you would like to a print!

Have a great day everyone!! Much Love, Amber Taney

I just started my Photo class, super fun! I'm so excited to take better photos and use this as an outlet to create better paintings. How expensive was the first camera that you bought? I have to start looking for an "afforable" camera on two starving students budget. What is an artist to do? Any ideas to find a good camera for not too much money, please let me know.

Happy New Year!

Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year in 2011!
I have just finished working on my new painting, Jennifer. She is one of my younger sisters who allowed me to paint her. She is a sweet girl and she allows her playful side to come into full focus in this portrait. Thanks Jay! This painting is made with acrylic paint on a 16X20 canvas then sprayed with a clear coat for protection from the elements (moisture/sunlight) and fading. If you are interested in having a portrait of your very own love one, pets, children, love interests or family. Please contact me.
